Girl, What’s Your Summer Secret?

Towards the end of 2016 I had my first run in with the big scary “C” word cancer. Luckily for me I was able to recognize that my skin was looking abnormal near my belly button fairly quickly and had the growth removed within a few weeks of first noticing it. Although I joke about having a designer bellybutton (since they had to resew it after scraping it out) I wouldn’t wish the experience or fear on anyone.

Today, I am much safer when it comes to having fun in the sun. After my minor firsthand experience with the dangers of sunbathing I didn’t want to risk my health in exchange for a summer glow anymore and so my quest for the best self-tanner began.

I started out by trying a few drugstore tanning lotions that you can find at any local drugstore. After turning several shades of orange, having blotchy patches, and uneven skin tone fails I almost gave up. No one wants to walk around resembling an Oompa Loompa meme, ya dig?

Recently I have been using a brand from Sally’s called TanWise. (You can find it 👉🏽 HERE) I immediately fell in love with the fast results and the color it gave me. However, after labeling myself the self-tanner pro I still was finding myself blotchy and uneven as the tan started to fade. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the scent it left even after a shower or how it stained my clothes where they rubbed against my skin. It was starting to become too much of a hassle with not enough pay off.

Influenster and Coola Skincare came to my rescue this week by sending me a package with a trio set of sunless summer skincare products.

I received:

• Sunless Tan Anti-Aging Face Serum

• Sunless Tan Sculpting Mousse

• Classic Face Sport White Tea Sunscreen

The first thing that stuck out to me was the sleek packaging. It instantly drew me in and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the products are 70% organic, cruelty free, and are a farm to face company. (It’s even Ecocert cosmos organic certified) You can read all about their awesome sunless tanning products HERE

Let’s all just admire the natural looking glow this ” magic in a bottle” gave my body after just ONE application using the sculpting mousse.

*Disclaimer- I was worried at first because the color took about 12 hours to appear on my skin and the mousse itself is a clear formula which makes it difficult to see exactly where you applied it. My best advice is to be generous with how much you apply and take your time.*

I also applied the face tanning serum to my face before bed along with the sculpting mousse. The face serum felt AMAZING on my skin and really helped hydrate any dry areas, brighten my under eye circles, and even out my uneven complexion. *This is after two rounds of using it because the color was subtle after the first use.*

I decided to do a second layer of the mousse too in order to see how natural the color still appeared when layered AND THIS WAS WHEN I WAS REALLY SHOCKED.

The above picture was captured after rinsing off the second application. Are y’all as shook as I am right now!? The color is even, natural looking, with brown undertones that don’t leave you orange after multiple uses, AND IT SMELLS LIKE PIÑA COLADAS!

So ladies, if you want to take care of yourself and the skin your in while still achieving your summer 2018 tan goals I highly suggest checking out Coola products next time you’re in Ulta! It’s worth every penny!
